From your bed, you can see the starry sky through the church window at night. The staircase leads upstairs to the ‘kraak’: the sitting area with a view over the meadows. In the past, long church benches stood on this indoor balcony, and worshippers followed the church service from here. On the ‘kraak’, next to the cozy seating area with a lounge sofa, there’s a kitchenette and a sleeping loft with two single beds.
A beautiful detail in this suite is the pressed wooden ceiling painted in old green. Bonus: on clear days, from the ‘kraak’ you can see the ferry to the Island of Ameland. Good to know: The church’s tie rods run right through the ‘kraak’. People taller than 2 meters may literally encounter the church here. And handy to know: the bedrooms and the sitting area are in open connection with each other, yet they provide privacy.
